On The Newstands - 13 April

Today's post takes us back to 1991, and 2 magazines, both English as that was the weekend that saw the start of Joan's new series, "Tonight at 8:30", 8 mini plays by Noel Coward for the BBC.

Radio Times, featured Joan on the cover as Lady Maureen 'Piggy' Gilpin the character Joan played in the first episode of the series, "Hands Across the Sea", with John Nettles, Miriam Margoyles and Edward Duke.

TV Quick was another UK TV Guide magazine which featured Joan on their cover that week.

On The Newstands - 11 / 12 April

Apologies about the absence of yesterday's post  - I was going to feature a Turkish magazine cover of Joan called Hayat from 1959, but having spent all morning going through storage crates, I couldn't locate it and believe it is still in a large crate of magazines I have at my parents home.  Will check and hopefully feature it as a post very soon.

As I do not have a magazine for today in the archives, I am featuring one that would have been on sale for the month of April.

Eros, an American men's magazine featured this lovely shot of Joan on their cover of the April 1983 issue.  Not surprising it sold like hotcakes.

TV Appearance - Loose Women 12 April 2013

Joan looked sensational in her final appearance of the week promoting her One Woman Show, this time on ITV's Loose Women, a programme which Joan has appeared on many times.

The first, Paris Match featured Joan with then 5th husband Peter Holm on the cover.

And on German magazine, Neue Post, Joan was featured as Alexis in a scene from a forthcoming episode of Dynasty at the wedding of her son, Adam Carrington (Gordon Thomson) to Dana Waring (Leann Hunley)

For Sale ....... Magazines On The Newstand

Regular visitors to the blog will remember a very popular thread I have featured called 'On The Newstand', when I would look through the archives for magazines featuring Joan which would have been on sale that day in a particular year.

This thread was very popular and came from my original website - JContheCover, which was the working title for the original website before Joan Collins Collection.

One of the worst decisions I had to make with my house move was to part with the magazines in my collection, as I simply don't have space to store them. I couldn't imagine keeping them in a locked storage unit which was one suggestion, and so they are gradually being sold off through the auction site, Ebay and on my website. I'm pleased that many of them are going to fans wanting to build on their collections, who have more space than I do!!

If anyone is interested please contact me for further details and prices.

Today, I am featuring a magazine from 1957 called Picture Post.

Joan's Back ..... And So Is My Blog

I've been absent from the world of blogging too long - following my house relocation towards the end of last year and a busy work schedule, and what seems like never ending unpacking and sorting of boxes the Joan Collins Collection website and blog is back!!!

Good to see Joan on tonight's One Show on BBC1, and that she is "back on the road" as us actors say with her hugely successful One Woman Show.

Thanks to everyone for continuing to support my website, 60 countries have now visited.

The site will be having a makeover in the next few weeks. I've still got plenty to add and also found stuff in my parents loft which I'd totally forgotten about. Thanks also to those who continue to e-mail with questions and comments about the website, its good to know that Joan has such an International following.
