NEW !!! - Joan Collins Poster Postcards
The above Spanish poster for The Girl In The Red Velvet Swing is featured on a set of postcards that I acquired in December. In total there are 88 cards which I will be adding to the website.
The art work on these is excellent, thanks to Simon for making these available to me.
Note: There is no magazine to feature 'On the Newstand' today - check back tomorrow for one from 26 years ago!!

On The Newstand - January 1st 1983
Today's magazine is one I don't recall featuring on the website and was one of those I mentioned finding in storage tubs in my parents loft.
It is from 1983 which makes it 31 years old the same age as the collection and is a Dutch magazine called Prive. I think Joan featured on the cover of the magazine more than once, and I will probably come across others as I update the website.

The Blog Is Back!!
Yes .... its back and firstly a Happy New Year to everyone and hope you had a good Christmas.
Its been a 6 month absence from the blog and web site, a big thank you to everyone who has been contacting me - I've tried to answer all the e-mails, apologies if I have missed anyone. During the time I have moved house again and a lot of the collection has been in storage - but today being the first day of 2014 I thought would be good to get back on track.
There's lots to add to the site and a major update/revamp is on the cards for this year. So keep checking back regularly - if there is anything in particular you like to see or ask about my collection, please get in touch.
Quite a few of your e-mails have highlighted that the magazine covers featuring Joan on a daily basis were popular and so that will return - and other requests have included a daily photo of Joan from my collection. I have over 100 new photographs/stills to add to the site so will try and introduce that and another request was to highlight different items from my collection with links on the website - which sounds a great idea, plus there was a great deal of interest from my plans to feature Dynasty fashion pages.
Its great that Joan continues to be busy and I know her fans are thrilled about the release of her latest memoirs, 'Passion for Life', yes my partner bought me my copy for Christmas and I also have it downloaded on my Kindle. Plus Joan going back into London's West End this year was more good news. I saw the show 2 years ago and featured it on the blog - looking forward to seeing it again in February.

Daily Picture: Dynasty Down Memory Lane

Website New Section - Lobby Cards
I am currently going through a number of Lobby Cards from films that Joan starred in and will be adding these into a new section on the website.
Lobby cards originate from the USA, and usually measured 11"x 14" and consisted of a title card and up to 8 cards depicting scenes from the film.
Mexican versions which I will also feature on the site had vivid colours and artwork and were different to American ones.
English (UK) cards were often called the same but were smaller, usually 10"x8" and were known as FOH (Front of House) cards.
Below is a title lobby card for the film The Wayward Bus, which Joan starred in alongside Jayne Mansfield, Dan Dailey and Rick Jason. Other Lobby cards can be found on the blog using the search engine.
