Seawife - Mexican Lobby Card

As a fan of Joan for over 25 years, I have collected a wide range of items from her amazing career including posters, photographs, films, books and magazines, pressbooks, press cuttings, and lobby cards and stills.
I have recently acquired some Mexican lobby cards and these are very different from English and US ones, especially because of their amazing artwork.
Today I am featuring one from the 1956 film Seawife which Joan starred in alongside Richard Burton, Cy Grant and Basil Sidney. I will feature others in future posts as I add more to my collection.

A big thank you to Adrian at What's on magazine group for sending me this copy.

CELEBRITY PHOTOS

This rare photo from March 1985 was when Joan met Princess Diana at a charity evening in London hosted by designer, Bruce Oldfield (also pictured).
Both ladies wore gowns specially designed by him, Diana's was a silver-grey dress cut away with a large triangle at the back, while Joan wore a white satin beaded sequin dress with a split tulip hem.

1001 Arabian Nights

In 1995 Joan recorded this audio book of 1001 Arabian Nights with William Vanderpuye.

1001 Arabian Nights are exotic tales of romance and adventure in ancient Araby, told by the lovely Queen Shahrazad, one tale a night, to delay her execution at the hands of the king, her husband.
In her stories - of gigantic birds and sea monsters, of maidens guarded by evil djinns and Caliphs disguised as fisherman, Shahrazad suffers no maidenly modesty in describing with the indulgent eye of the East the acts of love in all their splendour and degradation.

Released by Spartan Audiobooks, this is a double cassette running time approximately 2 hrs 30 mins.

Dynasty - Episode 19 Still

Alexis (Joan Collins, right) has another confrontation with Krystle (Linda Evans) whose position in the Carrington household she is trying to usurp, but she's dealt a crushing blow with the news that Krystle is pregnant.
This rare still is from Episode 19 of Season 2.

Tonight At 8:30 - The Astonished Heart

In this, the third in the series of eight playlets by Noel Coward, we have a sad love tale, set in November 1952.

Joan plays femme fatale, Leonora Vail, a younger woman who sets out to have an affair with Psychiatrist Christian Faber (John Alderton) her old school friends husband.

The two meet in this rare colour still from the production.

The affair is ended in this scene when she tells him that "their love died a long time ago, killed by his jealousy"
